Eclipse, Spring, Hibernate, Subversion, Maven, JUnit, JBoss, etc. Overall Experience: 07-09 Yrs. *Position Description:* We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer within client's Risk Solutions business unit responsible for developing commercial credit risk products. The candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to analyze, design and implement complex software to support a variety of credit risk products. The successful candidate will need to bring a product engineering mindset backed by industry experience that reflects repeated full systems lifecycle experience on complex financial/capital markets systems. The Software Engineer will be responsible for development and delivery working with a collaborative team of business and technical professionals. The role will entail working closely with the Product Management team, client's infrastructure teams, and other members of the Product Engineering team. The position will report to the business unit's Development Director, and will include: . The analysis, design, and proposal of new user interface concepts via prototypes, wireframes, and/or treatments using various technologies DHTML, JavaScript, Flash, Visio, etc. . The implementation of UI designs using DHTML, JavaScript, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) into the web tier . Management of the complete UI project lifecycle working with Product Management, Product Engineering and QA Engineering to ensure integration of the web tier to the rest of the product architecture (business tier integration) . Provision of thought leadership in next generation UI design patterns, Web technologies, and Business Workflow to our products . Ownership of the web tier implementation in all facets, including the design and developments of the View, the Model, and the interaction with the business tier and data entities. . Extending responsibility beyond the web tier by understanding the full implication on the UI and business workflow. *Qualifications Required:* . 6 - 8+ years hands-on development of large scale financial and capital markets systems, e.g. risk management systems (credit, market), trading systems, etc. . 3+ years in database development and query performance/tuning . Experience in building UI for Java EE application that leverages Spring, JSF, and Hibernate. . In depth knowledge with Java web tier technology, especially MVC2 frameworks like JavaServer Faces. . Experience with web UI templating framework like Facelets. . Experience with RichFaces, and preferably one or two other JSF implementation libraries. . Strong programming skills in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML . Strong proficiency in open source development on a Windows and Linux platform using tools such as Eclipse, Spring, Hibernate, Subversion, Maven, JUnit, JBoss, etc. . Strong interaction skills in with business users and excellent communications (verbal and written) . Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently . Ability to perform well under stress to deliver on committed timelines . Strong documentation discipline for all SDLC artifacts – business requirements, functional specifications and detailed design . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience; MS in Computer Science highly desirable *Additional Preferred:* . Strong financial knowledge in fixed income and/or credit instruments . Understanding of credit risk management . Highly proficient with MS SQL Server and/or Oracle . Exposure to agile development methodologies . Prior experience in a software product development role . Proficiency in XML .
