Hello, making local zone's /var its own filesystem separated from local zone's root seems to be a good idea for large systems.
But installing patches during single user mode will show error messages like: Cannot check name: //var/sadm/... Patches will be installed partially. Everything is ok if we install patches during multi-user. But this is not an option for many patches! Question: Is it allowed to make local zone's /var a separate filesystem? If yes, then patchadd has a bug which must be fixed. If no, then man-pages zonecfg(1M) or zones(5) should mention that /var must reside within local zone's root filesystem. Can you enlight this?
