Setting a default router for a non-global zone is a new feature in Solaris 10 10/08 and has been in SXCE for a while. I could not find a lot of details on its use, so I have published a blog entry on using the zonecfg net option for defrouter at http://blogs.sun.com/stw/
In the process, I noticed a problem using this together with IPMP and link failure detection (I did not test with probe based failure, although I think the problem will also be in that configuration). I filed CR 6792116, since I know someone who is looking to run this configuration.
