Hi all,

On a standard 2009.06 install, I'm trying to run X application in a zone
(namely Firefox, Thunderbird and OpenOffice). I'm trying to forward the
displays over SSH by doing the following:

ssh -X u...@zone firefox

However, I get something similar to this in response:
process 9033: D-Bus library appears to be incorrectly set up; failed to read
machine uuid: Failed to open "/var/lib/dbus/machine-id": No such file or

I have little understanding of X past general day to day use. I thought I had
heard that you cannot run X inside zones, but then I found the following, which
seems to say otherwise:

If doing the second method would allow me to run Firefox, how might I go about
actually doing it?
I'm not sure how to:
a) tell X to allow remote connections from the non-global zone
b) set the appropriate environment variable so that X sessions go to the global
zone’s X windows session

I presume for b, all I'd need to was:
setenv DISPLAY my-global-zone
But I don't know what to replace "my-global-zone" with.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Many, many thanks,
