Yes, I'd like to take ownership of implementing this.
I'd like to have a patch available within one to two weeks. There are some
implementation issues to work through which might take time (for example, how
do we manage the connections between joining followers and the current leader -
who connects to whom?). I see the initial version of the patch simply as adding
functionality to the core protocol. Adding any extensions to the client APIs
would come in a second revision. Ironing out the kinks in the first patch will
also doubtless take some time.
Does that sound ok? You can go with an unstable implementation as soon as the
patch is released.
