Perhaps once Jim's current work lands, that might be possible. As it is, most of the work to make ZClasses function in Zope 2.8 has been at the ZODB level (I think); I doubt that anyone (except Dieter!) plans to dive from the frying pan of ZClass implementation into the fire of ZODB code any time soon.
