I agree with Andreas.

There was a single problem which affected many BSD Zope users:

   The stack area for threads was too small by default and let
   Zope experience a C stack overflow.

Quickly, a port was available that fixed this problem -- but unaware
users still used the broken Python.


The problem was however fixed a long time ago by Python explicitely
requesting a large enough thread stack...
