With an upgrade card, you can run OS 10.3. An upgrade card might be a little hard to find for you, though. Do you have eBay there? Here is a good website for you to do some research on upgrades at:
talking to my teacher today about computers and my passion for them, I
mentioned that I occasionally got along Macs (which are VERY seldom here in
Eastern Europe) and that I love them... he then took me to one room and
showed me that they do have a mac there in my university, that just lies
around, with monitor and all the stuff, but never used...
It's a 8500-120, I didn't turn it on yet and know nothing bout RAM/HDD...
now I'm free to play with that thing :) what could be the highest OS I can
hope for? any chance for 10 or X? speed is not an issue, I just wanna see
how it looks like, as I have almost no software, and so I can't use it for
programming/video capture, though it is in the multimedia rooms (and I'm
actually studying multimedia)...
tks! ANdrei

Go to the Database tab. You can look at CPU upgrades as well as video cards.
The 8500/8600 series is an excellent older machine. Will they let you have it?? :-)
