do you know what sort of situation exists about shipping stuff to romania (from usa)?
i would totally send stuff you might need to "modernize" the 8500.
i have one modernized now that i don't use much, so there are parts available, etc.
but it would depend, etc.
but 120mhz is SLOW.
i run osX on an 8500.

I would have loved to see an Os 10 or X, as I have never ever seen one live... as I said, Macs are very rare here... I'm from Romania... so speed would not have been an issue, and I could upgrade to the full 512MB RAM supported by the board, as I have some spare chips @ home... but I guess these OS won't even install on this machine, right?
Is there a big difference between 8.6 and 9.2.2? I'm only gonna install the basic tools that come with the sistem, and do some browsing/fooling around, no big stuff... no games, no modem connections and no weird things :)
I'll have a look at the upgrade cards, but I don't have eBay here, and even shipping might cost a fortune... Our salaries are a bit low here, compared to the rest of Europe :(
And I just think they won't let me have it... I suppose I can do whatever I want with it, as long as it remains in the room it is in :) Guess they have it in the papers and can't just give it away... though there's no one using it (don't know why it's even there... lies around since 2000 or earlier...)
