(if you did 'top' did you see clamscan running, or CLAMDSCAN)
if amavis times out due to clamav, you will also have log entries about
primary or secondary failures.
our SME150's (appliance for 150 users/300 addresses) gets along fine
with 484 mb (512mb less the stuff the video card takes) and processes
thousands of emails a day.
BUT, you can only use the primary signatures (no google sigs, no sane
security sigs)
what are you using for bayes? you should use the special mysql hooks.
is postfix set up to reject unknown users at smtp session? or does it
pass unknown users to amavis?
