Registration opens for the OpenOffice.org Annual Conference

Please note we have now opened registration for our annual international
conference OOoCon 2008, to be held in Beijing, China between 5th.-7th.
November. This OOoCon is a double first - it's the first OOoCon to be held
outside Europe, and it will also see the biggest concentration of
OpenOffice.org developers ever assembled in one location on the planet.

Survey says: Firefox, OpenOffice leads in open source deployments

"The open source productivity suite OpenOffice has been found on 45% of the Linux and Windows machines scanned for the ongoing survey, first launched by open source software vendor OpenLogic just over six months ago. ISO OOXML support criticised

ODF established as National Standard in Ecuador

ODF APPROVED AS SWEDISH NATIONAL STANDARD

The Swedish Standards Institute has officially approved ODF as a national standard (SS-ISO/IEC 26300:2008). Sweden now joins Brazil, Croatia, Italy, South Korea, and South Africa as countries whose national standards bodies have formal approved ODF.
