Gribskov:  Municipality uses OpenOffice and saves a million DKK per year

The Danish municipality of Gribskov has saved two million DKK, about
270,000 euro, over the past two years by switching the public
administration and schools to OpenOffice, Michel van den Linden,
responsible for IT in the municipality says in an interview with the
Danish IT news site Computerworld.

Computerworld: IBM, Microsoft quibble over Office 2007's new ODF support

Data.gov: Unlocking the Federal Filing Cabinets

With the new government site Data.gov, Mr. Kundra is showing off the
value of standard data formats as well.
The government, of course, has been publishing information on paper for
centuries, and in electronic form for decades. The USA.gov portal has
links to hundreds of Web sites the government runs about all of its
agencies and programs.
