Oh boy, I'm really sorry for the confusion...
It is the "clock format ... -gmt 1", of course.

The problem is the tzset() which patches over the TZ variable
in the environment in order for time calculations in
TclpStrftime() to be done correctly.
Under Solaris, it does this unprotected, so it garbles the
process env array.
