Why is 8.04 required? I thought the alsa stuff was upstream nowadays?
Hi Peter :)
To get audio over HDMI working you need NVIDIA 100.14.19 drivers,
these will not build on kernels later than that in ubuntu 8.04. No
one has been successful at getting audio over HDMI working with
nvidia drivers above 100.14.19. Not sure what the problem is and if
it could be fixed without help from nvidia. Last I read, something
about the interrupt for intel audio getting disabled when the nvidia
driver loads.
