The general approach to pin down any bug is to just progressively strip
away everything that's not related. What's left is the reproducible recipe.

For example, "The issue occurs with this sample BBDB database containing
just two contacts, running BBDBv3 revision
e8f06492a06fee98c1747319501c3a701c06de70 on Emacs 24.2 with only these
three lines of Emacs initialisation code."

Start by removing your custom initialisations for Emacs and see if the
problem still occurs. Test before and after each change. Then try
trimming down your BBDB database (backing up of course first) and see if
you can still repeat the issue.
