My suggestion would be to not bundle them into a single file, but rather to actually have the reader create a file with the few lines necessary for each subsystem that they are configuring (but this doesn't matter much when the BLFS team won't be needing to address this for some time).
That will be the most probable approach. That keeps all the associated procedures for a package together.
