Hi,

Building LFS based on Glibc-2.3.4 with latest headers in lfs works without a glitch. ;))) - but later in the (blfs-)process, things start to go a bit wrong.

in /usr/include/linux/config.h it state:
#error "Compilation aborted. Please read the FAQ for linux-libc-headers package."
#error "(can be found at http://ep09.pld-linux.org/~mmazur/linux-libc-headers/doc/)"

This include file is necessary for f.ex X.org & XFree86 to build.

The general recommendating is to empty config.h - as I understand it - unless there are some system specific enhancements/changes/whatever.... which should be reflected when building other apps where config.h is brought into the build process.

As the problem doesn't turn up until X.org or Xfree86 is being built (in my experience) it can be argued that it belongs in blfs as a note or pre-build configuration issue for the affected applications or in the preface for blfs as a whole - but likewise it can be argued that config.h considerations belong in lfs when installing libc-headers.

Any comments on where config.h should be dealt with?

/Stig :))
