Hi. In a recent message you said: "> 3. When preferences opens you will be in a tree view and should be on the > General page, if not arrow up or down until you have General highlighted. > It is #4 of 29. Tab until you find a checkbox called enable protected > mode > at startup, uncheck it, choose yes on the warning you will get to > continue." But that seems to be only in adobe reader? I'm running Adobe Acrobat X Pro. That item seems not to be under general. Any idea where it might be found?
Many thanks. Anthony Tom with a wondering mind. -----Original Message----- From: blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Francis Khan Sent: Tuesday, July 19, 2011 8:35 AM To: blind-computing@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Using Adobe Reader to read PDF files Hi Mike: Thank you for your comprehensive tutorial on what I am supposed to do. It worked and I have a folder in my e-mail setup which has the name "instructions folder" which is filling up. Is there an update to Adobe Reader 10.1? And where can I look for it? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike & Barbara In Arcadia" <mb69ma...@charter.net> To: <blind-computing@jaws-users.com> Sent: Monday, July 18, 2011 4:56 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Using Adobe Reader to read PDF files > Hi Francis, > > the latest version is Adobe Reader X. > > You need to disable protected view first to get it to work well with > Jaws. > > Do the following: > > 1.
