Does it look like that? That's your basic VDO adapter to hook up a 1/8
npt aftermarket sender. I would guess your stock warning light wasn't
hooked up to anything, did you find the dangling connector? or found
it zip tied somewhere?

Carlos.

Right, that looks like the adapter... The pressure sender had two lugs on
its back, one of which had a wire off to the dash gauages (didn't pull it,
but its the same color and is heading to the right place... :-) and the
other wire looks like it disappears into the stock harness.

The sender looks like this:

To convert back to stock, looks like I can buy a stock oil pressure sender
for $7.23:

But I'd need to find a stock connector to re-convert the wiring back to
stock format...?

Thanks for the help!

Mark

Who has the best price on alternator parts of a 85 325e? I race RC cars and
rebuild electric motors all the time...the price I see on 'rebuilt'
alternators drives me crazy as I know all I need to do is replace the brushes
and re-surface the commutator....

So...anyone got a good source for brushes?

Dave

What makes you think you need to have it "rebuilt"? l you likely need to do
is replace the voltage regulator (i.e., "brushes") unless the commutator is
really bad or the bearings are shot (not terribly likely in my opinion and
experience with E30 alternators). You can get voltage regulators from tons
of sources (like the SSF ones), try www.bimmerparts.com.

Regards,

Rich - also has R/C cars (RC10) that I should break out and mess with
again...

The "l" should have been "all", my mistake (toggled the stupid "insert"
button mistakenly and failed to fix that).

Later,

Rich

I agree, it probably only needs brushes, but its a simple enough task for me
to rebuild it. You can get by with just installing new brushes...but if you
have the capability to resurface the commutator then the brushes will last a
lot longer.

Hey all,
while doing some routine maintenance I happened to notice that the upper oil
cooler hose seems to twist at the fitting, the lower hose does not
twist...looks like a pressure leak, anyone know of a 3rd party source for
these hoses? I think they are about $150 from the dealer. I've googled to no
avail...

Thanks,

Howdy,

I've got a Dalan hitch receiver and Hoppy brake light adapter for an e36
bmw that I don't need... It was mounted on my '93 325is and I assume it
works on any 'non-hatchback' e36.

$100 plus shipping from Youngstown, OH if required.
