As only have "doslinux" which works currently by loop/booting a real
ext2 version of linux on my dos partition can i use this unix-like os to
compile grub using gcc or gnu gcc and binutils before the steps below
and also when i read the text info there is no mention of requiring to
compile a stage1 or stage2 before doing copy /b and rawrite to make
a simple floppy boot disk.
# I would like to create a generic grub floppy bootdisk as per dos/win
instructions in tex readme files but as below will not work and can't
see how where it states to compile anything prior or how if so.
Could you simlpify please ...

There is no precompiled versions, you have to compile them yourself. This
should be done on a Unix system.

Please, Linux != RedHat.

Yes it is, the directory docs contains lots of information. The docs are
in Texinfo format. I usually convert them to HTML.
