Unidentified subject!

Hello sir,

I am facing problems ragarding the textprocessing utilities like
cut paste etc.. in linux. man pages were more reference oriented rather
than tutorial wise.I have internet connection available in my college.So
if u please say me some URL's where i can find these utilities on the web
as well as some refrence books. I could not even find this with most
search engines.
