Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     No reports this week.


Onondaga County
------------

     12/21: 3 COMMON REDPOLLS were seen at a feeder in Marcellus.
     12/23: 2 male HARLEQUIN DUCKS were found at the fisherman’s access area 
near the State Fairgrounds on Onondaga Lake. They were still present on the 
24th. but efforts to find them on the 25th. and after have been unsuccessful.
     12/25: 8 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen at the intersection of Verplank and 
Bennet Roads near Great Northern Mall. A second winter GLAUCOUS GULL was seen 
at 
the Marina near Liverpool on Onondaga Lake. 11 TUNDRA SWANS were seen at the 
mouth of Nine Mine Creek on Onondaga Lake.
     12/26: 1 COMMON REDPOLL was at a feeder in Fayetteville. A WHITE-CROWNED 
SPARROW was at a feeder in Syracuse. 

     12/27: A COMMON RAVEN was seen flying over the Fayetteville area.


Madison County
------------

     12/21: A WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW was seen at a feeder in Erieville.
     12/24: 2 COMMON REDPOLLS and 2 LAPLAND LONGSPURS were seen on Hunt Road in 
DeRuyter. A small group of EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen on Carpenter Road and a 
group of 50 or more EVENING GROSBEAKS were seen on Paradise Hill Road, both 
near 
DeRuyter.
     12/25: A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen near a feeder in Erieville.
     12/26: A NORTHERN GOSHAWK was seen flying near Erieville.
     12/27: 2 LAPLAND LONGSPURS were seen with Snow Buntings and Horned Larks 
on 
Strain Road near Munnsville.


Oneida Lake
------------

     12 27: 11 COMMON REDPOLLS were at a feeder in Durhamville.


Jefferson County
------------

     12/20: A very rare TOWNSEND’S SOLITAIRE was found on State Park Road just 
off of Co. Rt. 57 on Point Peninsula. It has been very cooperative for the many 
visitors going to see it during the week and was seen today. It has been 
feeding 
on juniper berries which are very common in the area. Also seen nearby during 
the week were BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS and both a male and female BARROW’S GOLDENEYE.


Extralimital
------------

     12/27: The male KING EIDER found originally at Meyer’s Point north of 
Ithaca on Cayuga Lake is still being seen closer to Ithaca. Initially refound 
at 
Stewart Park at the southernmost part of the lake, today it was seen Treman 
Marina Park just west of Stewart Park.
