2017.
Highlights--------------
COMMON LOONBLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONBRANTCACKLING GOOSEEURASIAN WIGEONSTILT 
SANDPIPERLONG-BILLED DOWITCHERBAIRD’S SANDPIPERWHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERPARASITIC 
JAEGERGULL-BILLED TERNORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERNELSON’S SPARROW


Montezuma National Wildlife Complex (MNWC) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex 
(MWC)------------
     Shorebird species numbers were down this week but there were still 15 
species reported including WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER and BAIRD’S SANDPIPER.     
10/4: A BAIRD’S SANDPIPER was seen at the Visitor’s Center.     10/8: A 
NELSON’S SPARROW and a BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON were seen along the Wildlife 
drive. 4 EURASIAN WIGEON were seen in the Main Pool. A WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER 
was reported from the Morgan Road Marsh. A late BANK SWALLOW was seen at 
Howland Island     10/9: A WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER was seen along the Wildlife 
Road. A single BRANT was seen in the Main Pool.

Onondaga Lake------------
     10/7: A COMMON LOON  was seen on Onondaga Lake.

Oswego County-----------      10/9: A PARASITIC JAEGER was reported from Oswego 
Harbor.

Madison County------------
     10/8: 10 BRANT and a CACKLING GOOSE were seen at Woodman Pond.     10/9: 
An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen on Irish Hill Road south of Cazenovia.

Oneida County--------------
     10/2: 4 Species of Shorebirds including a Dunlin were seen on Hinkley 
Reservoir. Also seen were 2 COMMON LOONS.

Cayuga County------------
     10/6: 2 MERLIN were seen at Fair Haven State Park.     10/9: 10 BRANT were 
seen at Fair Haven State Park.
