you could do it by locking the db and doing lots of queries? it wouldnt be
nice though!

no. rows affected = query3.recordcount - query1.recordcount

I dont want to use triggers pl/sql neither. The previous solution is for
pl/sql:

declare
  rows_affected number;
begin
  update [any table]
  set ...
  where... ;
  rows_affected := sql%rowcount;
  dbms_output.put_line('Rows '||to_char(rows_affected));
end;
/
(Remember to "set serveroutput on" in SQL*Plus first.)

I need a more easy solution... (cf solution w/ java)
