Hi Sammi,
I would suggest using tools to see a) what the value of the cookies are
at certain stages in the process, and b) perhaps check what headers are
sent (the cookies are sent with the headers, right?). For FireFox this
is really easy, and those extensions are probably already in your
toolkit. There are some similar things for IE out there, or use a proxy
(Fiddler?) to look at the headers.
You can also check what happens if you send the session identifiers with
the URL (should have the same effect as being set in a cookie) - then
you can also test that using some lightweight tools, like curl (with the
-i parameter to see the headers?).
