Sammy, I do something exactly the same as you do, and it works under Firefox and IE and safari. The problem is that a session does not expire until the timeout limit happens either by the server or the application tag.
So what this means, is that the CFID & CFToken is still existing in the application for some reason, and not getting new values which would cause what you are talking about.
