Regarding <cfswitch> vs <cfelseif>, <cfswitch> is a heck of a lot easier to read, and its pretty unlikely that your code needs to be optimized to the nth degree .. if your app is running that slow, the database is probably the culprit, not your use of <cfswitch> (and that's assuming its actually marginally slower than <cfelseif>).
