Another thing that may have been relevant are the class paths - you may
want to check if this option is selected in the CF Admin, (Caching >
Save Class Files ).

According to the notes beneath this item,

"When you select this option, the class files generated by ColdFusion
are saved to disk for reuse after the server restarts."

So this could have been a factor.

Subject: Re: [CFCDEV] Strange behavior with CFC Load Paths

Hi Steve,

Thanks - I've tried renaming the directory containing the offending CFC,
and then ColdFusion simply complains that the file does not exist (which
it does, in the same directory as other CFCs it has loaded - this is
visible clearly from the exception dump). I have restarted my app server
as well as my computer, and cleared all custom tag paths, template
caches, etc. As soon as I access this one particular page, it happily
loads 2 other CFCs from the correct path, and then ignores the file in
the same directory.

So I just decided to reinstall ColdFusion, and it works now. Not exactly
a great solution, but it only took 45 mintues, so I guess I'll have to
debug it some other day (hopefully never).

Eric,

Sometimes ColdFusion fails to delete the class file for a .cfm or .cfc
file. I would recreate the file (with different contents) and call the
file from ColdFusion (so that the class file gets rewritten). Then
delete it again and see if that helps.

Has anyone ever seen an instance of ColdFusion pulling CFCs from a path
explicitly not set in the Custom Tag path? I had two directories
containing different versions of the same CFCs (current site and
re-design) in my Custom Tag path. This caused some confusion, so I
deleted one of them, and CF is still pulling one particular CFC from the
deleted path! Additionally, I am getting all sorts of errors of
"incorrect type" which I am assuming is being caused by CF looking for
files in the wrong place.

At this point, I am beginning to think I should just delete and
reinstall ColdFusion, but since I have an Intel Mac it is a bit of a
process. Any help would be appreciated.
