that works with some workarounds:

1. I have to use a speciel sub folder for checking instead of the main
folder or there would be a lot of fetching going on, since the atime is
also updated when the imapd scans the contents of the folder.

2. since imapd (or thunderbird) appearently always scans any subscribed
folder every minute I must ignore these routine check and have to
create my own scheme to configure for automatic fetching every n
minutes. Manual polls usually appear outside the minute raster and can
be detected this way.
