Hi Sam,

One of my users has two domains, both of which were listed in the hosteddomains
file. He changed the MX for one of the domains to a third party system, our
server removed the domain from hosteddomains and then ran the makehosteddomains
command to rebuild the .dat file, and then he tried sending an email from his
other domain, still on our server, through our server, which should have then
been routed to the third party system but instead was meet with a 500 User
Unknown. We waited for many multiples of the TTL on the DNS record, just in
case courier had somehow had that cached, but still no luck. Restarting courier
fixed it.

Is it possible that courier is cacheing hostnames or MX records for domains in
a way that isn’t purged when a domain is removed from hosteddomains?

Thanks,
Jeff
