installation on FreeBSD-11.1 of modules that this was blocking,
including Test-File-ShareDir, DateTime and Dist-Zilla. I should have

Yes, it appears that with DMUEY's release of version 0.41 of
File::Copy::Recursive, the crisis has passed.
To give you a feel for the scope of the (now averted) crisis, I'm
attaching a plain-text file which is an excerpt from the 'cpan'
reports-sent.db for the run this morning where I requested that 'cpan'
install File::Copy::Recursive, Test::File::ShareDir, Data::MessagePack,
Inline::C, DateTime and Dist::Zilla. None of these were automatically
installable on FreeBSD before 0.41. This opens up 6000+ distros to
installation via 'cpan', 'cpanm' and to BBC investigation.
A couple of CPAN distros switched to using
File::Copy::Recursive::Reduced. I'll continue to support it but now
consider it feature-complete.
