Omitade, I know the feeling. This stuff can be terribly frustrating at times... I think that it might be a good idea to just get a simple page working cross-browser for starters. Once you've got that working, you can plug decorative images into it. Most any dropdown/flyout menu is really hard to get working properly in iE 6.
