Must add.......my father was a Fitzgerald, Fleming, Neville and
Walsh.....first fitzgerald was Gerald of Og....you now in the bible,
Moses had to murder King Og and Sihon to get to the promised
land.....and then, when you consider royl familys always trace their
family tree to the bible.....the plot thickens. What an unusual name
for a baby......King Og was a huge man, of course......and King Henry
had 7 hanged, drawn and quartered....one Lord Thomas Fitzgerald is
buried in a lake at Lou Ghour )now that is spelled wrong) but I like
this legend....every 7 years he arises from the lake on a huge white
horse, and rides the country sides, and when the silver heels of the
great horse wear down, he will get back his title and estates. I
always hated Moses for that - and quite frankly, he deserved to get
knocked off at the mountain top.
Lincoln was a Gog of a man, was he not. Tall......legends are more fun
that history books. Oh by the way, the one Fitzgerald got away from
Henry, escaped to Frannce, and the Fitzgerld and St. Patrick carried the
same Coat of Arms.]
As you can see, my mother was so fmily conscience, but when the name
Davis was mentioned, well a Davis, was Davis.
Keep us posted on Booth. I always thought he got away....the plays of
Sheakespear at one time were banned, or in trouble becasue the Kings and
Queens thought they gave people ideas - that it was okay to asssssinate
and King or Queen.
