Letter from Adam Parfrey, propietor of Feral House on Martin Cannon's
death threats, one of which was recorded by Tom Davis at Tom Davis Books
in northern California:

Dear Alex:
I told Tom the story of Controllers. How he took the money, and once the
book was announced and due, said he couldn't finish it for lack of money,
which extorted further funds from me. Then once he couldn't or didn't want
to finish the book, he insulted me ferociously to shake my cage to attempt
to provoke me into anger, so that he could assign his own inability to
complete a project to an angry comment he thoroughly provoked.
Tom said, "This is Martin's way. It's called 'psychiatric projection.' Blaming
others for what he's doing.' I like Martin. I still hope for the best for
him. But when he gets angry, and I've seen it at least several times, his
whole expression changes; his eyes become narrow, his pupils change [can't
remember what Tom said about the eyes, but it was good. You should talk
with him]."
Tom has Martin's death threat on audiotape, punching the recording button
when he called. Cannon threatened Tom Davis on two separate occasions, and
was present when he threatened the life of Sandy Monroe. Tom knows about
two other death threats; one to his girlfriend, and another to Fourmy. Tom
Davis hates Fourmy, calls him a thief, but even so, death threats against
Fourmy is a part of all this, even if there is disagreement on pay.
Things he said were told to him by Ken Swezey, was NEVER told to him by
Ken Swezey. Ken doesn't know Cannon, at all. [It may be best to simply
contradict the "Ken Swezey" statements rather than guess they were made by
Stuart Swezey.'
Martin's email to me describing commentary by a childhood friend, fearful
of getting Martin mad at him, was a lie. More psychiatric projection,
particularly comments supposedly made by this friend about my "psychosis."
I'm not concerned about such commentary. If I was all the things that
people said about me due to the controversial books I publish, I'd be a
crack-toking homicidal Masonic CIA extraterrestrial.
The childhood friend was present when Martin smashed his brother's hand in
furious anger. I got it wrong; it wasn't breaking the arm, it was fucking
up the hand badly. More lies from Martin that it was done accidentally.
This childhood friend wants to be kept out of everything, and so does Ken
Swezey.
You should talk to Andy Boehm.
Remember that Ron Bonds at Illuminet Press said that Martin scewed him out
of a cover illustration for a John Keel book, for which he was advanced
$250. Martin's inability to finish projects made him lose his illustration
agent, and lots of work in that field, particularly working for FATE
magazine.
