Well, the Book of Mormon was plagiarized directly from the Christian
historical fantasies of an Ohio minister, so that's one scripture that really
*is* fiction. Aside from that, the two most enjoyable works of what might be
called religious fiction I know are probably Heinlein's *Stranger in a Strange
Land* (which at last count had inspired three or four separate new religions)
and, of course, Robert Anton Wilson's *Illuminatus!*... Won't go so far as to
say that the *Principia Discordia* is fiction, of course, but then I've never
been entirely sure just *what* it is fnord.
