bard, First of all, I think Davis should be recalled. NOt because of 187, but because of the idiotic gun ban he suports. But there is an arguement in this post that I categorically reject; namel that the governor's main crime was that he didn't listen to the people. WEll, I don't care what the peope say that's irreleveant. By that standard, you might as well have ligislators and executives who govern by polls, because that's the will of the people. But we don't live in a democracy, we live in a constitutional republic. That means that weneed to govern by cerain principples, regarldwww of what the people think. If the majority wanted gun control, that doesn't mean we should have it. It is principple, not the will of the mob, that should be the basis of sound goverment. andre
