I would say that her choice to abuse alcohol ruined her life, not the fact that she 
had an abortion.

Well, I can recount my own experience with women who have had abortions, who did not 
make the decision to have an abortion easily
but nonetheless do not regret making the decision to abort the fetus.  They have gone 
on to have full and fulfilling lives; some
have gone on to have families, some have remained childless by choice (none have 
experienced fertility problems due to the
abortion).  None are alcoholics, neither do they use drugs.  Those who work outside 
the home have no trouble holding on to their
jobs.  Those who are married or are in a committed relationship are happy in those 
relationships, with no greater (or less) problems
than women who have not had abortions.

Perhaps the fact of the matter is, Bob, is that you personally attract weak women to 
you...but that doesn't mean that all women who
have abortions are weak, or are 'made weak' by having an abortion.
