Yeah, anytime the local rags decide you're guilty, you should throw ashes
over yourself, slit your wrists and retire from public life. Condit is not
doing anything the rest of the Congress isn't doing or hasn't done. Remember
how long it took the Republicans to find a guy to be speaker who hadn't
cheated on his wife. That was Hastert's real qualification. That was after
Gingrich, Livingston and Hyde were all discovered to be wanting in those
family values they're always beating everybody over the head with, and who
knows how many they had to canvass to find Hastert. He wasn't exactly the
most famous Republican in the House. Even more interesting is the almost
total media silence regarding the young lady found dead in Scarborough's
office a short time ago. Nobody seems to be asking questions about that at
all.
