Tight security has surrounded anti-war protesters as they marched from the US Embassy in Canberra to the Prime Minister's residence.
The group has gathered outside the Prime Minister's residence in Canberra.

Police estimate the crowd at about 2,000 people and heavy security has surrounded the demonstration.

Waving placards and chanting, the protesters also created traffic interruptions.

The focus has shifted from the US Embassy where earlier protesters placed body bags, representing what they said were innocent Iraqi children that would be killed in a conflict.
