Subject: xfce crashes system on Fujitsu Lifebook completely (hard reset
required)
X-Mailer: reportbug 1.50
Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Package: xfce
Version: 3.8.16-2
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

starting xfce from wdm works till the desktop with the initial tool bar
appears and plays its hymn to the end. thereafter, the whole system is
dead: it does not react to any keyboard actions (even Ctrl-Alt-Bsp,
Ctrl-Alt-Del, Ctrl-Alt-Fn) nor to the mouse. soft reset (standby) does
not do anything either.
even worse: the system is not reachable from the outside over the
network! neither by ssh, nor by ping!
only a hard reset is left :-(

xfce has been removed from the archive (note we recommend you use xfce4)
and either this bug is now irrelevant, there have been no follow ups to
a reasonable request from the maintainer on this bug for a long time or
I've not seen this bug in xfce4 so I'm closing it.

If you want further justification feel free to discuss it with me.

If you can reproduce them in xfce4 please reopen and reassign to xfce4
(or better the component you think is buggy) or start a new bug.

Thanks,

Simon.
