Package: kicad
Version: 7.0.11+dfsg-1
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: behelfsmas...@gmail.com

Dear Maintainer,

after a regular system update, KiCad no longer seems to recognize any of the
built-in libraries or footprints. When I hit Place / Add Symbol in the
schematic editor, all of the library
names are listed, but without any content. I cannot even add an ordinary
resistor or capacitor, EVERY symbol is missing.

Under Preferences / Manage Symbol Libraries I've checked: every default library
is activated, the corresponding library files exist on my computer, and their
location is correctly
registered in the software. It's just that KiCad cannot import them for some
reason. Only those libraries can be used that I have created myself. Same
applies to footprints.

I'm not sure if it is really a bug in KiCad or just a mismatch between the
versions of KiCad and its libraries, but I am not sure how to check. Also, I am
using the testing repo, so
I cannot try v8.0.1 without adding the unstable repository (which I would like
to avoid if possible).

How shall I proceed?

Thank you very much for your help!

Istvan
