Package: scribus
Version: 1.2.5.dfsg-2
Severity: important
Justification: does not create exportable documents

  Exporting a document (either to EPS or PDF) does not work. In the case
of PDF, this gives an instant error; for EPS the error is completely
silent. The following lines show what is wrong:

Can't find Plugin/usr/lib/scribus/libs/libpostscript.so: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory
Can't find Plugin/usr/lib/scribus/libs/libpdf.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory

  And this is the complete listing of the scribus/libs directory:

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root   14 Aug 14 09:20 libabout -> libabout.0.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root   14 Aug 14 09:20 libabout.0 -> libabout.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root  80K Aug  9 23:27 libabout.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root  834 Aug  9 23:17 libabout.la
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root   12 Aug 14 09:20 libpdf -> libpdf.0.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root   12 Aug 14 09:20 libpdf.0 -> libpdf.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root 400K Aug  9 23:27 libpdf.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root  822 Aug  9 23:21 libpdf.la
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root   19 Aug 14 09:20 libpostscript -> libpostscript.0.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root   19 Aug 14 09:20 libpostscript.0 -> libpostscript.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root 129K Aug  9 23:27 libpostscript.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root  864 Aug  9 23:20 libpostscript.la
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root   20 Aug 14 09:20 libpreferences -> libpreferences.0.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root   20 Aug 14 09:20 libpreferences.0 -> libpreferences.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root 216K Aug  9 23:27 libpreferences.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root  870 Aug  9 23:17 libpreferences.la

  Manually adding a libFOO.so -> libFOO.0 symlink resolves the problem.
Apparently the *.so symlinks are just named differently and are missing
their suffix. This may be related to #379095.

  Since Scribus is mostly used to create documents that are read or
printed elsewhere, I believe the severity is correct.

  Thanks,
