In general you'd end up filing hundreds of these wishlist bugs. True, there's a slippery slope there, but I really was proposing maintaining exactly one (libuuid-perl) this way. Anything else can be easily rebuilt after upgrading perl by temporarily removing packages, even on a system without a build chroot. Removing the kernel, on the other hand, even temporarily, is not a good idea.
