I would think a NEWS.Debian entry informing users of the name change
would be enough; however, I'm not overly familiar w/ GIT, so I guess
that judgement is best left to the maintainer.

Either way, this is good to hear.  Does upstream intend to release a new
version w/ an updated name, or will this name change be Debian-specific?
