The old function for dealing with word characters was removed from vte, in version 0.36 I think. I thought it was being reinstated (in 0.38?) and tried to handle this without having to recompile (ignoring the option when the function was missing), but it seems in 0.40 they've replaced it with a slightly different function, so I'll have to release a new version of roxterm to fix this.
