Hi there, it looks like the blamed code in initscripts.postinst has been removed since 2.88dsf.59-10 (see commit a2873c7d40fa4b1 - by Michael Biebl on 20170908). The symlinks are not created any more, and actually the function compat_link in initscripts.postints is not used at all (it can be removed).
