Hi Johannes,
It seems there is another place to change it still...
It would appear that the actual change that I first noted is required
in /usr/sbin/update-f-prot, a transcript of the session is below,
showing the remark about 1.8MB and then 2.9MiB download. A trivial patch
for that script is attached.
