-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm not able to reproduce this problem, but perhaps xsysinfo is causing your system to use a lot of memory. (On my system, it doesn't appear to have any sort of memory leak.) On a comannd-line, could you find out the PID of xsysinfo and then submit the contents of /proc/<pid>/status?
Thanks for your quick answer :) Here's the content of /proc/<pid>/status: Script started on jeu 08 mar 2007 09:58:09 CET [EMAIL PROTECTED] 09:58 /home/pibe>cat /proc/14550/status Name: xsysinfo State: R (running) SleepAVG: 0% Tgid: 14550 Pid: 14550 PPid: 14549 TracerPid: 0 Uid: 500 500 500 500 Gid: 500 500 500 500 FDSize: 256 Groups: 6 29 44 500 VmPeak: 37324 kB VmSize: 37324 kB VmLck: 0 kB VmHWM: 35408 kB VmRSS: 35408 kB VmData: 33840 kB VmStk: 88 kB VmExe: 12 kB VmPTE: 48 kB Threads: 1 SigQ: 1/4294967295 SigPnd: 0000000000000000 ShdPnd: 0000000000000000 SigBlk: 0000000000000000 SigIgn: 0000000000000000 SigCgt: 0000000000000000 CapInh: 0000000000000000 CapPrm: 0000000000000000 CapEff: 0000000000000000 Cpus_allowed: ff Mems_allowed: 1 [EMAIL PROTECTED] 09:58 /home/pibe>exit Script done on jeu 08 mar 2007 09:58:26 CET VmLib: 3240 kB BTW, regarding it taking a lot of CPU even at the xdm login screen, I'm
not sure how xsysinfo is running if there isn't an active X session on the machine. Could you elaborate?
xsysinfo is started from /etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 10:04 /root>grep xsysinfo /etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup xsysinfo -swap -geometry 240x120+20-20 & ... this way it runs when nobody is logged, but it also runs when somebody is logged Thank you,
