Package: sdd Version: 1.52-7 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
The sdd package is empty on powerpc due to binutils bug #421456 . >From the buildd log [1]: /tmp/ccseboaK.s: Assembler messages: /tmp/ccseboaK.s:1199: Error: operand out of range (0x000000000000ffff is not between 0x0000000000000000 and 0x00000000000000ff) make[3]: *** [OBJ/ppc-linux-cc/format.o] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/build/buildd/sdd-1.52/libschily' make[2]: *** [install] Error 2 make[2]: Leaving directory `/build/buildd/sdd-1.52/libschily' [...] make[2]: Entering directory `/build/buildd/sdd-1.52/sdd' ==> COMPILING "OBJ/ppc-linux-cc/sdd.o" ==> LINKING "OBJ/ppc-linux-cc/sdd" /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lschily collect2: ld returned 1 exit status A binNMU will probably fix this. However, the fact that the build produces an empty package instead of failing on compiler errors is a lower-severity bug in the source and should also be fixed.
