I disagree. If I edit the sound font file in a wave editor, I may well have changed the preferred form of modification for that work. If I as the author of the work were to actually choose to do all future modifications in the wave editor rather than using the sound font file, then I've effectively changed source code formats. You want to permit this especially in cases where it is not trying to get around a license, just acknowledging the evolution of the work.
